About

Luke is a filmmaker, writer and critic based in Naarm (Melbourne).

Drawn to stories which explore the lived-in reality of Australian youth, Luke’s work shows the interpersonal nature of politics, identity and queerness in modern-day Australia.

Inspired by filmmakers the likes of Eric Rohmer and Edward Yang, he has an elegant and distinct style which he hopes to continue exploring long into the future.

Luke was a member of Critics Campus at MIFF 2019, an intensive five-day lab that enables emerging Australian film critics to develop their skills in a live festival setting. He has been published in The Guardian, ABC Life and the MIFF Blog.

Currently he is on the writing staff for successful LGBTIQ+ web-series Flunk, it’s third season now in production with funding courtesy of Screen Australia.

I live and work on the stolen country of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
